Civil registration and vital statistics

One system, one plan, one reporting system.

The National Population Commission, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and partners are mapping who supports what across civil registration and vital statistics in Nigeria: births, deaths, cause of death, stillbirths and MPDSR, marriage and divorce, adoption, interoperability and vital statistics. Each institution records its own work, where it happens, and the result it is tied to.

Who takes part

NPC

The National Population Commission, owner of the CRVS system: headquarters, the Vital Registration Department and state offices.

Government

Ministries, departments and agencies, state and LGA bodies: health and PHC, statistics, identity, interior, justice, women affairs, planning and others.

Partners

UN agencies, development partners and donors, NGOs and CSOs, the private sector and academia.

How it works

  1. Your institution registers once, with a focal person's email and password.
  2. The secretariat at NPC and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare approves the registration.
  3. You record each piece of support: the CRVS areas, the states it covers, the systems it touches, the period, and the result it is tied to.
  4. Signed-in institutions see the shared dashboard of who does what and where. The secretariat verifies entries.

What stays private

Contact details and funding amounts are seen only by the secretariat. Other institutions see what you support and where, and your funding status only if you choose to share it.
